What is your role and how do you feel you support MMSDC Constituents . What issues should MMSDC constituents take to you?
As the Director of Events, our team is responsible for the planning and execution of various programs that benefit our Corporate Members and our MBEs. We support our constituents by providing the environment to assist in their business’ growth and development. Our constituents know that they can bring ideas for events, which we will help bring to life as well as provide them with consultation on how effective the “right” events can be an asset.
Your path to your current position at MMSDC?
After retiring from a 29-year career at General Motors in 2009, I launched GoliathWorks, LLC, a full service event planning and management company. In 2012, I was hired by MMSDC as their Director of Events.
Why do you choose to work at MMSDC?
The ability to support minority owned businesses in various ways and to see the growth in their businesses materialize.
What are your outside of MMSDC hobbies or passion projects?
Spending time with family, Traveling, Sports (Golf and Softball) and Cooking.
Tell us a little about your family
Wife (Karen), 35 years (and counting) career at General Motors (Engineer), Daughter, Morgan (27), employed in the Medical Research field as she completes her Masters Degree in Public Health at the Georgia State University. Daugther, Sydney (26), Surgeon. Recent graduate of Howard University’s College of Medicine.
