The Annual Golf Outing supports over 1,000 hours of training for over 1,000 minority businesses each year. Your participation in this golf tournament not only connects you to great business opportunities, it also helps the MMSDC provide minority businesses with the skills, tools and knowledge they need to grow and remain competitive.
Join your customers and potential customers in supporting this important endeavor as you network and enjoy a competitive round of golf at an exclusive championship course: Detroit Golf Club.
This year we are pleased to announce we have two different formats of play for the golf outing!
The first format will be a traditional Scramble format and will be played as follows:
Each team’s players hit from the tee box, then the team members choose the best of the four shots for the next shot. All team members then play the second shot from that location, and again choose the best shot. Play continues in this manner until the hole is completed. The team then records its score and maintains that format for all 18 holes.
The second format will be Four Ball (4 person, 2 best ball score) and will be played as follows:
Four Ball is played in a foursome. Players must use handicaps or play scratch. All four players play their own ball throughout the match. At the conclusion of each hole the two players with the low score, minus handicap, is the score for the team on each hole. For example, on a par 4 hole Players A and B score a 4 on the hole and Players C and player D score a 5 and 6 on the hole. The score for the team on that hole would be 8. The winning team for the tournament will be the team with the lowest 2 ball score for 18 holes.
