Pure Michigan Business Connect (PMBC) and the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) are excited to partner with the MSU Product Center on the 2023 Making It In Michigan event.
As a part of the Making It In Michigan event, PMBC & MDARD will host one-on-one matchmaking meetings bringing together purchasers including grocers, retailers, distributors, institutional buyers, or others looking to procure Michigan-made food and beverage products, with Michigan food and agricultural businesses from around the state - all with one common goal to strengthen the state's food supply chain.

Michigan Women Forward Launch New Business Microloan Program
Michigan Women Forward (MWF), a certified community development financial institution (CDFI), announces the launch of a new $10 million microbusiness loan program for women and entrepreneurs of color in Michigan. The Michigan Economic Opportunity Fund will lend to individuals who don’t qualify for traditional loans through banks or other financial institutions.
Women and entrepreneurs of color can apply for Michigan Economic Opportunity Fund loans by visiting www.miwf.org. All applicants must submit an application form, demographic information, personal financial statements, business plan with projections, and other supporting documentation for consideration. Forward Accelerator Launches for Black and Latino Entrepreneurs (Apply by Apr. 1)
Black and Latino retail entrepreneurs can now access fresh funding, mentoring, and products they need to thrive thanks to a new business accelerator program announced by Square.
The program, called ‘Forward’ and launched in partnership with Social Change Fund United, will support 25 early-stage businesses who will be awarded $20,000 in funding along with exclusive access to trainings developed in partnership with 1863 Ventures, a national business development non-profit. Participants will also get to meet with celebrity entrepreneurs such as Ayesha Curry, Dwayne Wade and Rosario Dawson, who are serving as mentors for the program.
