Sealed bids for the FY2018 Sidewalk Ramp Improvements will be received by the Clerk of the Owner, the Township of Macomb, 54111 Broughton Road, Macomb, Michigan 48042 until 10:00am on August 28, 2019, at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

The project consists of removing and replacing various sidewalk ramps and curb and gutter to meet ADA requirements, in accordance with the Bidding Documents prepared by the Engineer.

Plans and specifications must be obtained through BidNet, formerly the Michigan Intergovernmental Trade Network (MITN), at, which will be made available on Wednesday, August 14, 2019.

Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check or bank draft in the amount of 5% of the total amount bid, payable without condition to the Township of Macomb as security for the acceptance of this contract. A bid bond in the amount of 5% of the total amount bid issued by an approved Surety Company and executed by the bidder, may be furnished in lieu of a certified check.

Bids are to be submitted in a sealed envelope, plainly marked “FY2018 Sidewalk Ramp Improvements”.

Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this Project, and that the Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin, in accordance with Executive Order 11246 (Equal Employment Opportunity) and that the Contractor will comply with Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, as amended.

Contractor must comply with Davis Bacon Act July 2nd, 1964 (Title 40§ 276A). The Equal Employment Opportunity Act September 28, 1965 No. 11246, all United States Department of Labor Regulations and standards Title 29, 1,3 and 5, and Title 18, U.S. C., Section 874 known as “Anti-Kickback Act” and the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970.

The Owner reserves the right to accept any bid, to reject any or all bids, to waive defects in the bids, and to make the award as may appear to be to the best interest of the Owner. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receiving bids for at least sixty (60) calendar days.
