Request for proposal: Replacement of shingled roof, Richmond Township Senior Center Project Number: B-19-UC-26-0005


Scope of work to include but may not be limited to:

•  Removal of one layer {approx. 3700 square ft) of existing shingles, to the sheathing and properly dispose of all debris.
•  Replacement of following flashing material; vent pipe collars, step flashing, aluminum drip edge {approx. 300 linear ft) on all rakes and eaves. All material needs to meet standard requirements.
•  Installation of two layers of ice and water shield overlapped extending at least 24 inches from a point inside the exterior wall line of the building, along all eaves and one layer along all rakes. {approx. 400 linear ft).
•  Installation of 30 lb felt on entire roof surface.
•  Installation of new Landmark Burnt Sienna architectural shingles (approx. 3700 square ft) according to the manufacture specification.
•  Installation of new vented ridge cap (approx. 112 linear ft).
•  Installation of new hip or ridge cap where required (approx. 45 linear ft).
•  Each bid should include a 10% contingency, for cost associated with the roofing project which can not be anticipated, until the current shingles are removed.
•  Standard cleanup of all grounds, gutters, bushes all waste, nails and all debris.

Bid Submission
•  Bids must be received no later than 4:00 PM, Thursday, May 21st, 2020.
•  Sealed bids must be delivered to Richmond Township 34900 School Section, Richmond Ml 48062
•  Bids must include project number: B-19-UC-26-0005
•  A public bid opening will occur at 4:15 PM on Thursday, May 21st
• The Township Board will review and may award this work at their Public Meeting to be held Wednesday, May 27th at 7:00 PM. The Township reserves the right to reject all bids.
If awarded the project the successful bidder agrees to: 
•  Meet with the Township for a pre-construction meeting.
•  Begin on-site work within 30 days of the preconstruction meeting.
•  Complete work within 14 days of beginning on-site work.
•  Agree to receive full payment for the work only after project completion and the submission and approval of all required Davis­Bacon and certified payroll documents.
