2019 CDBG ROXANA PARK IMPROVEMENTS

RECEIPT OF BIDS

The City of Eastpointe will receive sealed bids until 2:00 pm, local time on Thursday, June 11, 2019, at the offices of the City Clerk, City of Eastpointe, 23200 Gratiot Avenue, Eastpointe, Michigan 48021, at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

 

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The project is considered a 2019 Fiscal Year Project and consists of removing the existing playground equipment (done by others), excavation of the planned area, assembly, and placement of new playground equipment, sidewalk approach to park, and other related items of work at Roxana Park, Eastpointe, Michigan 48021.

 

PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS

Plans and Specifications may be obtained at www.bidnetdirect.com and copies may be viewed at the office of the City Clerk, City of Eastpointe, 23200 Gratiot Avenue, Eastpointe, Michigan 48021 on Friday, May 24, 2019. Documents will only be available through the BidNetDirect site. Bids may be rejected unless made on the forms as included with the bidding documents.

 

STATE AND FEDERAL REQUIREMENTS

“Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project and that the Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin, in accordance with Executive Order 11246 Equal Employment Opportunity and Notice of Requirement for Affirmative Action to ensure Equal Employment Opportunity, and that the Contractor will comply with Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, as amended.

The Contractor and sub-contractors must comply with Davis Bacon Act July 2nd, 1964 (Title 40§ 276A). The Equal Employment Opportunity Act September 28, 1965 No. 11246, all United States Department of Labor Regulations and standards Title 29, 1,3 and 5, and Title 18, U.S. C., Section 874 known as “Anti-Kickback Act” and the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970.”

 

BID SECURITY

A certified check, or the included Bid Bond, executed by the Bidder and a surety company, payable to the City of Eastpointe, in an amount at least equal to five percent (5%) of the bid, shall be submitted with each bid.

 

WITHDRAWAL OF BIDS

No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) calendar days after the receipt of bids.

 

AWARD OF CONTRACT

The City of Eastpointe reserves the right to reject any or all bids and/or to waive any irregularities in the bidding. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish satisfactory performance, payment, maintenance and guarantee bonds and insurance certificates.
