Our longtime corporate partner, Consumers Energy is looking for Service Disabled and Veteran Owned Businesses to respond to the following open bid for opportunity for their 2020-2021 Energy Waste Reduction (EWR) plan
Consumers Energy Company (Consumers Energy), Michigan’s largest electric and natural gas utility provider based in Jackson, Michigan, has received approval from the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) for an Energy Waste Reduction (EWR) plan covering calendar years 2020-2021.
This EWR plan was designed in response to the requirements legislated in the Clean, Renewable, and Energy Waste Reduction Act, Public Act 295 of 2008 and Public Acts 341 & 342 of 2016.
Consumers Energy intends to meet the energy efficiency standards through the continuation and expansion of a comprehensive energy efficiency portfolio of programs. These programs will enable our customers to reduce their energy usage, lower their electricity and natural gas bills and decrease their environmental impact. Consumers Energy has invested over $1 billion on EWR programs over a 10 year period during calendar years 2009-2018.
Consumers Energy is issuing this Request for Proposal (RFP) for the selection of experienced third party EWR program implementation contractor team(s) for delivery of Residential and Commercial and Industrial EWR programs targeted at both electric and natural gas customers. In support of programs with common measures that require purchase by Consumers Energy (e.g., direct install, kits, marketing products), a product based RFP will also be released. The time period for this solicitation is for calendar years 2020, 2021, and 2022. After 2021, legislative outcomes may result in altered savings and spending targets. As such, Contractors must be aware that approaches specified in their RFP response may need to be renegotiated.
