MBEIC Nominations

The Minority Business Enterprise Input Committee serves as the liaison between the Council’s corporate members and the voice of the MBE community. The Minority Business Enterprise Input Committee (MBEIC) is a standing committee of the MMSDC Board of Directors. The MBEIC is comprised of certified MBEs and organized to foster input on issues affecting minority owned businesses, industry trends, and to create MBE to MBE alliances aligned with corporate industry groups (CIG), the council’s programs and activities in support of same.

Nominations are now open for Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Secretary. To nominate yourself or someone for a position, please fill out the nominee’s information in the fields below the position criteria. (Please nominate no more than one person for each position)

The deadline for all Nominations to be submitted is April 17, 2017.


  • Chairman Criteria (The newly elected MBEIC Chairman will present their plan for the MBEIC on May 2, 2017.)

  • The Chairman of the MBEIC will supervise, control, and keep the MBEIC; including regular operation of the MBEIC Industry Groups. The chairman shall be responsible for: - Creating a forum for certified MBEs to leverage, streamline and engage in interaction between businesses within an industry, including sharing pivotal industry and market trends - Promoting the development of stronger "ready now" MBE firms that align with actual needs via MBE Developmental programs and other educational opportunities - Driving MBE to MBE spend - Facilitating activity that leads to business opportunities for "ready now" firms, whether MBE to MBE or MBE to Corporate Member - Informing and advising MMSDC on matters from the perspective of its MBE constituency
  • Vice Chairman Criteria

  • The Vice Chairman shall be elected by the MBEs. The Vice Chairman shall perform the duties and exercise the powers of the Chairman during the absence, or disability of the Chairman. The Vice Chairman shall have such powers and duties as may be delegated to the Vice Chairman by the Board from time to time.
  • Secretary Criteria

  • The Secretary shall be elected by the MBEs. The Secretary shall: - Keep the minutes of the meetings of the MBEIC in one or more books provided for the purpose - See that all notices are duly given in accordance with the provisions of the By-Laws or as required by law - Be custodian of the MBEIC records - Keep a Register of the MBEs by industry
