Chairperson Criteria
The Chair of the MBEIC shall be a Class II-IV MBE elected by the MBEs and will oversee the MBEIC, including regular operation of the MBEIC Industry Groups.
The Chair shall be responsible for:
- Creating a forum for certified MBEs to leverage, streamline, and engage between businesses within an industry, including sharing pivotal industry and market trends,
- Promoting the development of stronger “ready now” MBE firms that align with the actual needs via MBE development programs and other educational opportunities,
- Driving MBE to MBE spend,
- Facilitating activity that leads to business opportunities for “ready now” firms, whether MBE to MBE or MBE to Corporate Member,
- Informing and advising MMSDC on matters from the perspective of its MBE constituency.
Vice Chairperson Criteria:
The Vice Chair of the MBEIC shall be a Class I-IV MBE elected by the MBEs. The Vice Chair shall perform the duties and exercise the powers of the Chair during the absence, or disability of the Chair. The Vice Chair shall have such powers and duties as may be delegated to the Vice Chair by the Board from time to time.
Secretary Criteria:
The Secretary of the MBEIC shall be a Class I-IV MBE elected by the MBEs. The Secretary shall be responsible for:
- Keeping minutes of the meetings of the MBEIC in one or more books provided for the purpose,
- Ensuring that all notices are duly given in accordance with the provisions of the By-Laws or as required by law,
- Maintaining MBEIC records,
- Keeping an up-to-date Register of the MBEs by industry.
